Happy awkward moments day8/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Try to find someone you know or trust who has experienced the same condition or may know someone who has. This can come from talking to a doctor or using resources like those on the Urology Care Foundation website. Learning more about your condition can help you feel more in control by having the information and tools to help you go forward. We all have awkward moments, right? Well, one way to help make things feel less awkward is to empower yourself within the situation. But the more these things are talked about, the more we can break the stigma on how awkward these conditions really are. Do you have a urinary tract infection? Do you have an overactive bladder? Do you have erectile dysfunction? While these are just a few conditions, it is natural to feel weird talking to someone about what’s going on. So I decided to wing it, and do the majority of the talking. And I found this out on camera, in the middle of the newscast! But I wouldn't let that stop me. I had been given a file with his background, and all the information I would need to talk with this fine gentleman.all the information, that is, except the fact that he didn't speak a lick of English. But the awkward moment came at the beginning of the interview. When he did show us his skills, they were incredible. Everyone else got to speak with musicians, but they sent me to talk to "this amazing Asian street artist who molded candy into art" is how they pitched it to me. All of the reporters were given specific artists to interview during the evening news. The station had sent all of us out to do live reports from the Waterfront, as the Folk Festival kicked off it's inaugural year in Bangor. The first one happened during the first Folk Festival. The first couple of mine come from my time working at WABI TV5 as a reporter. ![]()
